Caves

Limestone rocks in the mountains of Eastern Serbia occupy a large expanse, and this is the area to which the Djerdap area belongs, with pronounced all forms of karst erosion. One of the features of the karst relief of eastern Serbia is the large number of caves and pits, and it can be said that this area has the highest concentration of caves in Serbia. Admittedly, not all are arranged for tourist visits, and a representative example is certainly Rajko’s cave in the immediate vicinity of Majdanpek.
