It was discovered in 1967 during archaeological research prior to the construction of HPP Djerdap I. His discovery changed the understanding of the transition of the human community from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic. Archeological findings here tell some of the most interesting stories of the early prehistoric past.<br \/>\nArchaeologists have dated the Lepenski Vir at its most prominent stage related to trapezoidal buildings dating back to about 8000 years ago and this is one of the most interesting periods of human history in general, when economic, cultural, socio-ideological and spiritual changes took part due to contacts that happened between different populations.<br \/>\nWhat also happened was a transformation of local hunting-fishing gathering communities into the first livestock and farming communities in Europe.<br \/>\nWith their unique way of life, religion and art, they made the modern man admire the inhabitants of Lepenski
